|Bill Title:||Relating to public records; and declaring an emergency.|
Requires state agencies to adopt written policies regarding use, retention and ownership of public records.
Modifies definition of "public record" for purposes of public records retention and disclosure laws. Applies to public records in existence on effective date of Act or created on or after effective date of Act.] Requires state agencies to adopt written policies regarding use, access,] retention and ownership of public records. Requires policies to be submitted to State Archivist for approval before policies take effect. Becomes operative January 1, 2012. Modifies definition of "public record" for purposes of laws related to archiving of public records. Exempts certain records of or submitted to domestic violence resource center from public disclosure laws. Declares emergency, effective on passage.
